Waltman Lake Lodge Story

Humble Beginnings

With its humble beginnings in the 1960’s as a pioneer camp for girls, the picturesque setting at Waltman Lake Lodge has essentially remained untouched. Today, Waltman Lake Lodge still holds its original lodge and cottage structures. We take pride in our commitment to the preservation of the nature that surrounds us. Each space has been newly renovated to be a private, wooded haven in the middle of nature with all the amenities of home.

After 2 years in the making, Waltman Lake Lodge sits beautifully renovated in that same spot as it has sat since the 1970’s. Owners Mark and Tami, and their daughter-in-law Emily work together as a team to provide family-oriented, custom designed events. Their loves of family, nature, and celebrations are what make Waltman Lake Lodge a one of a kind destination venue.

Say hello to Mark & Tami

Mark and Tami Redfield have been married for 25 years. For the past 23 years, they have lived in the Cedar Springs and Pierson area where they raised their 3 children. They have a passion for family and spending time in the great outdoors. Their vision for Waltman Lake Lodge is to promote conservation and share nature.

When the property (now Waltman Lake Lodge) became available, the Redfield’s love for the outdoors coupled with their desire to keep the property in one piece made the decision to purchase and renovate an easy one! The Redfield family hopes to bless others by sharing the Waltman Lake Lodge property – the buildings, lake, trails, and nature’s beauty make for a truly unique environment. It is their mission to make this a place for making lasting memories with your family and friends. They would be honored to partner with you for your wedding or other special event!

Meet Jaye Lynn

Jaye Lynn has been coordinating and creating events for over 25 years. She has worked with universities, corporations and non-profit events – large and small – along with many personal gatherings with friends and family. She has a resume of experience (and sore feet) with being a Master of Ceremonies many times and just recently experienced the weddings of both of her sons. She is all about the details! She is here to help with the details of your special day and support the operations of Waltman.

When asked about getting involved with this new venture with the Redfield’s, Jaye Lynn didn’t hesitate. “When I first saw the Waltman property, I knew it was special. Even though you are a few minutes from 131, the seclusion of the woods and lake create a private retreat. Seeing the property and all of the renovations, I knew I wanted to be a part of the new venue. It is truly unique”. She lives just a few minutes from Waltman and is familiar with the area and all it has to offer. Jaye Lynn’s personal goal is to support the mission of family, conservation, and creating celebrations at Waltman. She looks forward to supporting your celebration!
